Trusts

By helping clients establish trusts (living trusts, revocable trusts and others), we allow them to maximize financial resources that can pass to the next generation. Many individuals seek our advice regarding strategies for avoiding the expense and complications of probate. We advise and assist clients in assigning assets into trusts such as the following:

  • insurance trusts
  • family trusts
  • irrevocable trusts
  • special needs or supplemental needs trusts
  • revocable living trusts
  • testamentary trusts
  • credit shelter trusts

While we work to support clients’ foals of avoiding probate, we also advise people to prepare wills.  A valid will clarifies the ownership of any assets not assigned to the trusts. A will, when put through probate, also sets a time limit after which creditors can no longer make claims against the executor of an estate.
